King Lear
For this production I wanted to focus on King Lear losing his faculties. I love the idea of an old king slowly becoming more insane and paranoid. From an aural standpoint I want to give the audience the a glimpse into Lear's waning mind. I want him to hear voices and other sounds that showcase a mind not well. I also want to incorporate the idea of his kingdom being one that is in decay. I love the idea that he wanted to parcel out his kingdom to his daughters, but the kingdom is a shadow of what it once was. I my mind the kingdom is slowly being taken back by nature. Castles and Halls covered in trees and plants is what I envision. This mirrors Lear's slow descent into madness.
